What is the EU Transition period?

The UK has left the EU and the transition period will end on 31 December 2020. During this period, the UK remains in the EU customs union and single market.

Whilst the UK negotiates additional arrangements with trading partners, businesses can take action to prepare for change.

How will the Transition period affect business?

New rules will come into affect from 1 January 2021.

You need to act now if you’re:

  • importing goods from the EU
  • exporting goods to the EU
  • moving goods to or from Northern Ireland

  • living and working in the EU
